Add Proxylang to WordPress

One script tag translates your whole site. No DNS changes needed.

Use the Proxylang WordPress plugin

Install the plugin, paste your two keys from the dashboard, done. No code editing, and it adds per-language URLs, hreflang, and search-engine SEO on the Start plan and up.

Manual method

Works everywhere, including hosts where you can't install plugins.

1. Copy your script tag

Copy it from the setup wizard, or any time from the Domains page under the Setup tab.

Example only — copy your real tag from the dashboard.

2. Install the WPCode plugin

PluginsAdd New Plugin

Search for "WPCode", click Install Now, then Activate. WPCode adds code to your site without editing theme files, so theme updates never remove it.

3. Open Header & Footer

After activating WPCode, Code Snippets appears in the left sidebar of your WordPress admin.

4. Paste into Header and save

Paste the script tag into the Header box, then click Save Changes. The language switcher appears on your live site right away.

5. Check that it worked

Open your live site. The language switcher appears within a few seconds. If you came from the setup wizard, it also checks your site for you.

On WordPress.com, installing plugins requires any paid plan (Personal, Premium, Business, or Commerce); only the free plan cannot. Self-hosted WordPress has no restrictions.
